Policy for renewals and deletions of domain names (gTLDs)

Domain names are registered through http.net for fixed periods (usually one year). All domain names are registered per default with the option AUTORENEW, which means on expiration the registration will be automatically renewed for another term. The AUTORENEW option can be cancelled at any time through the domain owner or his agent acting on his behalf.

If the option AUTORENEW is replaced by the option NONRENEW, the domain name will be deleted after the expiry date, unless extenuating circumstances laid out by the ICANN "Expired Domain Deletion Policy" prohibit the deletion of the domain name.

Registry operators provide registrars with the ability to restore a deleted domain name for the domain owner during the redemption grace period of 30 days from the date of deletion.

During the redemption grace period, the domain name owner or his agent acting on his behalf can request http.net to restore a domain name registration. http.net will charge the domain owner or his agent Euro 75.00 (plus tax) for this service.

After the redemption grace period the domain name is placed on "pending delete" status for 5 days, after which the domain name is deleted and is once again available for registration.

The domain name owner can request http.net to delete a domain name at any time.
